Wine label design for Casa Valduga, a vineyard located in the south of Brazil. It is well known in its country because of its tradition, professionalism and hard work that has endured along the years to become one of the leaders of the market. Valduga is internationally recognized because of its wines and sparkling wines.
We had the challenge of redesigning its mid-level wine line, with 3 different brands: Raíces, Leopoldina and Identidade. All of them focused on producing different wines from different geographic locations each with particular and unique characteristics. We decided, to uniform this line, to merge those three wines into only two: Terroir and Exclusive Terroir.
From the design perspective, we wanted to represent all three terroir from a new perspective, designing a label with an abstract approach, using a overheard view where you can see where the vineyards are settled, remembering Brazil’s magnificent geography.
The idea was to offer a new perspective to the consumer, focusing on a design full of details and exquisite textures, showing the concept from above, distinctive and different. Through the label design, we complemented all four senses used in the wine tasting: Sight, Falvor, Smell and Hearing with a fifth one: the touch. The consumer can go through all details of the label, its stamps, foil, varnish whom are the main characters of this design.
